Glen Waddell

Funeral services for Mr. Glen Waddell were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Rev. Mack Alford and the Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Waddell, 72, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was born on Apr. 7, 1940. He married the love of his life, Sarah Crenshaw on Aug. 26, 1963. Mr. Waddell served the people of Neshoba County two terms as constable and five consecutive terms as sheriff. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Waddell was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Elbert Waddell and Callie Bethany Waddell; brother, David Waddell and infant sister.

Mr. Waddell is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sarah Waddell of Philadelphia; daughter, Sharon Waddell Lewis and her husband, Mike Lewis of Philadelphia; son, Tommy Waddell and his wife, Bobbie Kay Waddell of Union; sister, Patricia Bradley of Philadelphia; seven brothers, James Waddell of Jackson, Willard Waddell of Gulfport, Leonard Waddell of Philadelphia, Harold Waddell of Philadelphia, Rayburn Waddell of Madison, Johnny Waddell of Philadelphia and Bud Waddell of Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Kyle Barrett, Casey Lewis, CeCe Hillman, Cody Barrett and Drew Hillman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Bill Bradley, Ray Waddell, Aaron Waddell, Brian Waddell, Ladd Burgr, Larry Waddell, Larry McKinney and Al Snow.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Crenshaw, Chad Crenshaw, former and present deputy sheriffs.
