Esther Spears

Graveside services for Esther Creekmore Spears were held Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 12 noon from Cedarlawn Cemetery with the Rev. David Richardson officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Spears, 99, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Choctaw Residential Center in Choctaw.

She was a retired garment factory seamstress. Mrs. Spears was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Phillip Spears and parents, T. N. "Bud" and Sina Creekmore.

Survivors include her niece, Mary Winstead (caretaker) of Philadelphia; sisters, Nellie Winstead of Choctaw, Edna Bullock of Hattiesburg, Mary Read of Stockton, Calif., Tommie Mayo of Clinton, Kitty Skelton of Gautier and Fay Burton of Crystal Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jesse Spears, John Spears, Steven Mayo, Kenneth Parker, Dan Burton, Richard Creekmore, and Ricky Creekmore.
