Lady Warriors fall in playoffs

The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors lost the third game in their playoff series with Raleigh and were eliminated from the Class 3A fast-pitch playoffs this past Saturday.

Raleigh won the first game 2-1 and the Lady Warriors bounced back to take game two 3-2. In the final game, the Lady Warriors lost 8-3 and finished the season with a 15-12 record.

"We played a lot of young players this year," Choctaw Central Coach Aaron Terrell said. "We should be okay next season."

Betty Mingo was the Lady Warriors' pitcher in all three games.

The Lady Warriors had five hits in game one. Mingo led with a double and a single.

In game two, the Lady Warriors scored one in the second, one in the fourth and one in the sixth. Raleigh answered with one in the first and one in the seventh.

Choctaw Central outhit the Lady Lions 8-5. Mingo hit two doubles and a single while Lashala McMillan added a double.

Raleigh put together a four-run fifth inning and added two more runs in the sixth to pull away from the Lady Warriors in the third game. Daren Tubby led with two singles and Jasmine Hickman added a single.
