County hires new payroll clerk
A new payroll and fixed assets clerk was hired by the Neshoba County Board of Supervisors on Monday in the wake of terminations over a $700,00 overtime discrepancy under invesigation by the State Auditor.

Garden club met at Depot to hear Tree Lady
The Town & Country Garden Club of Philadelphia met in October at The Depot. After Club President Margaret Thomas opened the evening meeting, the Inspiration was offered by Mary Marshall and the Horticultural Tip was provided by Beth Yarbrough. Ideas for civic projects were discussed as were several ideas for Youth Projects and Scholarship opportunities.

At Camp Fisher, near Dumfries, Virginia, three days after the Battle of Leesburg, October 21, 1861, a meeting of the 11th Mississippi Infantry, including the 100 plus men of the Neshoba Rifles, produced a preamble and resolution that addressed the concerns about what they "had heard" was going on back home with the ladies.
