Stovall, Ladd remembered
Col. Scott Hubbard speaks at the Remembrance and Tribute Service for First Lt. Matthew R. Stovall at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery on Friday. Hubbard, the Stovall family's casualty assistance officer, cited the lieutenant's leadership abilities, which earned him the trust and respect of his fellow soldiers.

Nine days after the 1952 Miss Neshoba County pageant ended, one in which Miss Gloria Williams won second alternate honors, the Philadelphia High School Band, including 81 teenagers and nine chaperones, traveled in two Continental Trailway buses to New York City to participate in the American Legion National Convention.

The PNC Arts Council will hold auditions for "A Celebration of Disney" on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. from the Ellis Theatre. Auditions are for high school students and adults. This is a musical. Be prepared to sing 1-2 minutes of a song. Bring sheet music. Song will be with piano accompaniment.

The Neshoba County Extension Service would like to thank all of the exhibitors who exhibited items in the Exhibit Hall at the 2014 Neshoba County Fair. Neshoba County has many talented exhibitors who take much pride in their handiwork, gardening, field crops and food preservation skills. They spend many hours each year preparing their exhibits for the Neshoba County Fair and we appreciate their participation. This year there were 110 adults exhibiting approximately 2,465 items.
