Three wounded in Thursday night shooting

Three people were treated for non life-threatening gunshot wounds at the county hospital Thursday night, the authorities said.

Police officers responded to the intersection of A Avenue and Northwest Street shortly after 10 p.m. where a man had been shot in the leg, Chief of Police Grant Myers said.

He was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at the county hospital.

"I responded to the ER and learned that two more subjects had been brought in by private vehicle with gunshot wounds," Myers said. "One had been shot in the shoulder area and the other in the leg. The three subjects were shot outside a residence in the area of A Avenue and Northwest Street."

All three suffered non life-threatening injuries, he said.

Anyone with information on the shootings was asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-855-485-8477 or the police office at 601-656-2131.
