Sunday was Father's Day. Special recognition was given to all fathers at churches throughout the community.
There were tributes, many encouraging words of appreciation, dinners, etc.
The Rev. Tony Grant brought a wonderful Father's Day message at the Mount Ary Baptist Church. His message was entitled "I Have a Father Who Can." His scripture was Matthew 26:1.
The Young Adult Choir of Mount Ary Church accompanied him with a beautiful song service.
Rev. Grant's wife and children came in support of him.
Brother C. White was the messenger on Sunday at the Stallo United Methodist Church. Members stated that Brother White also delivered a wonderful Father's Day message. His scripture was Deuteronomy 6:4-6. He also sung a special "You Raised Me Up." His wife Catrina accompanied him.
Several members of the Mount Talley Baptist Church seemed impressed after hearing the message by the Rev. Lavoid Kelly. His scripture was John 4.
There are several people from the Mount Olive District in Dallas, Texas this week where they are attending the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education USA, Inc. Remember them in your prayers.

The Women's Auxiliary of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church will have a program Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. The speakers for this occasion will be Mrs. Mary Andrews and Mrs. Claudine Haynes. All ladies are asked to wear their favorite hat. The Rev. Michael Taylor, Jr., is the pastor.
