Pay My Bill

3/5/2014 6:00:00 AM
Stallo
By MARJORIE LYON

We were glad to have several members back for worship service on Sunday after being shut in with colds, flu and other illnesses.

There were several throughout the community.

Bro. C. White brought a wonderful message on Sunday at the Stallo United Methodist Church. His scriptures were Psalm 107 and Ephesian 5:15-20.

His wife Catrine accompanied him.

Also attending worship service with the Stallo Methodist Church family was Bro. Chuck Reynold.

The Mount Talley Baptist Church has been in revival this week.

Many seemed revived after hearing a message from a different speaker each night.

The Mount Ary Baptist Church will have their annual spring revival on March 10-13. The evangelist for the week will be the Rev. Lavoid Kelly, pastor of the Mount Talley Baptist Church.

The public is invited to these series of services which will begin at 7 p.m. nightly.

The Rev. Bennie Hopkins is pastor.

A baby shower was held recently for Heather Brantley Nwokomah. She received many gifts from family and friends.

Heather is the daughter of Debra Rush and Terry Brantley.

Our prayers go out to Mrs. Alice Perryman and her family in the death of her father, Walter Fulton Jr.

The funeral service was held Saturday, March 1 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Preston.

Minister Annie Hopson officiated. Burial followed in the Anderson Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Beck Funeral Home was in charge or arrangement.

Remember all bereaved families in your prayers.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Travis Thames, whose birthday will be March 9.

Happy birthday wishes also go out to Willie Burnside and to Nathaniel Hoskins. Their birthday will be March 11.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Joan Walker whose birthday was March 2.

Belated birthday wishes also go out to the Rev. Charles Griffin, Bernice Holmes and Johnny Price. Their birthday was March 4.

Our special prayer request list for this week includes Bro. Terry Barnett, Bro. Melvin Lyon, as well as others who are sick or shut-in.

Some have been in and out of the hospital recently. Our prayers go out to them also. Remember those who will be traveling this week after attending funerals of loved ones.

Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Snow were her sister, Otis Tolbert; daughter, Robin Savoy; and granddaughter, Lillian Savoy. They had a few hours of good fellowship.

Thought for the week: Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles-Proverbs 21-23.

God bless you. Have a good week.
