Taking the helm at Neshoba General is an exciting opportunity for Lee McCall, given that it's such a dynamic and progressive healthcare organization, he said.
The newest chief executive officer at Neshoba County General Hospital and Nursing Home was announced publicly on Monday by the Board of Trustees.
McCall, the chief executive officer for Winston Medical Center, will succeed longtime CEO Lonnie Graeber, who is retiring.
The announcement was made to hospital managers on Thursday.
McCall has had repeated success in his tenure as a healthcare leader, most recently at Winston Medical Center, a 41-bed hospital and a 120-bed nursing home in Louisville, officials said.
Prior to that, he served as CEO for Jefferson Davis Community Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital and a 60-bed nursing home in Prentiss.
"We are very pleased and excited by the expertise and energy Mr. McCall brings to Neshoba County General Hospital," Oliver Jolly, Board of Trustees chairman, said. "Our board believes that under his leadership, we are well-positioned to explore a range of opportunities that will prepare us for the future."
Jolly said McCall was hired in a unanimous vote by the hospital's Board of Trustees.
He expects the new CEO to start at Neshoba General within the next two months.
Jolly would not release McCall's salary or the length of his contract with Neshoba General.
"We will not release the terms of his salary or contract nor that of any other employee," he said. "That is confidential."
McCall said he was honored to be the next leader of the hospital and nursing home.
"This is an exciting opportunity and I am honored to have been chosen by the Board of Trustees as the next leader of Neshoba County General Hospital - Nursing Home," he said. "I look forward to joining such a dynamic and progressive healthcare organization that has a very clear mission, vision, and values. My family and I are excited about becoming a part of the Neshoba community."
McCall was born in Natchez and grew up in Byram. He holds a master's degree in business administration and a master's degree in public health from the University of Southern Mississippi.
McCall is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is actively involved in the Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA), having served on its Board of Governors and currently serving on the MHA Solutions Board of Directors, the Rural Hospital Alliance Board of Directors, and Healthcare Providers Insurance Company Board of Directors.
McCall is an active member of the Winston County Chamber of Commerce and serves on its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Rotary Club.
His wife Ashley is originally from Jackson. They have two sons, ages eight and five.
"The board did a great job in their selection of Lee," Graeber said. "He is well known by hospital administrators in the state. I am extremely confident in his ability to lead our hospital and nursing home."
