15 marijuana plants seized in county
By DEBBIE BURT MYERS
Managing Editor

Fifteen marijuana plants were seized last week at a residence in the Laurel Hill community resulting in one felony arrest.

Michael Lindley Goodin, 32, of 10631 Road 147, was charged with manufacturing marijuana after deputies seized the plants growing in flowerpots and a large bucket, Sheriff Tommy Waddell said.

The plants were up to nine inches in height.

"They were in a wooded area to the right of the house," Waddell said. "We found them the day before his arrest on Tuesday [April 16]. We decided to seize them the next day for fear that they might be moved. A lot of time the plants are grown first in the pots and then transplanted."

Goodin was initially arrested on a warrant charging him with simple assault/domestic violence.
