Bingo Night

Calling all senior citizens ages 60 and up. Come join us every Tuesday at 5 p.m. for a fun night of bingo and a chance to win great prizes. This event will be held at the Senior Citizens building located at Northside Park. There will be a $2 entry fee and refreshments will be served. So come out and have some bingo fun.





MID-WEEK PRAYER

MEETING

Anyone/everyone who wants or desires an opportunity to praise and pray to the Lord (shift-workers, etc., and person available during that time) are invited to a mid-week/mid-day prayer meeting every Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Yates Drug Store (banquet room) on the square downtown Philadelphia. (Extra parking around the back of the drug store).



Mt. Olive Baptist Church

Anyone with family members buried at the cemetery is ask to help with its upkeep.

RECOVERY FIRST

MEETING

The Recovery First NA meeting will be held at God's Tabernacle Church every Thursday at 6 p.m. For more information call Ruthie Nash at 601-656-3565.



Donations Requested

The Philadelphia Police Department and the Community Policing Neighborhood Associa-tion are asking for your assistance in donations for school supplies for the children of Philadelphia Elementary School. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.



Friday Night Entertainment

Come one, come all and listen to the delightful music by Derrell Fulton and The Night Shift Band. Dance the night away to old favorites, contemporaries and music written by some of our own band members. Enjoy great company in a smoke free atmosphere. An $8 cover charge includes coffee, soft drinks and bottled water. Join us every Friday night beginning at 8 p.m. We are located on Highway 15, eight miles north of the Neshoba County Coliseum on the left.



SERVSAFE CLASS

A ServSafe food safety certification class will be held in Philadelphia in the Neshoba County Coliseum multi-purpose room on Jan. 28 and 29. The registration deadline has been extended to Jan. 7. For more information and to obtain a registration form and the 6th Edition ServSafe Book, contact the Neshoba County Extension Service office at 601-656-4011.

Individuals who require special accommodations to participate should contact the Extension Office to make their request known prior to the program. Contact should be made timely to ensure appropriate accommodations.



Faithway Baptist Church

Bro. Larry Savell and Bro. Jimmy Townsend cordially invite you to join them at the newly formed Faithway Baptist Church. We are King James New Testament church located at the intersection of Highway 21 south and 488. Pine Grove Church of God-Edinburg

Drive-Through Live Nativity

Sandtown United Methodist Church will be having a seven-scene, drive-through live Nativity on Friday night, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15 from 6-9 p.m. each night with live animals and two casts of 40 participants per cast. Candelight Service

You are invited to the annual Cross Mountain Country Christmas Candlelight service to be held at Cross Mountain Ministries, Townsend Road, Porterville on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.

Class of 1978 meeting

There will be a meeting Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. at Steven Chapel Church for the class of 1978 at Philadelphia High School. We are asking all classmates that are able to attend to come out and help plan class reunion for 2013.



Advent Lessons and Carols

Advent lessons and carols will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church. Please join us this Sunday at 6 p.m. as we read the story of God's magnificent acts unfolding through scripture; and then sing the hymns of Advent which express the joy and anticipation of this season of preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ! St. Francis is found on St. Francis Drive between the hospital and Neshoba County High School.



Outreach Yard Sale

Philadelphia's Outreach is having a yard sale Dec. 15 at 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Colonial Motel parking lot if anyone would like to setup it is free for more information call 601-504-5119

Basketball Tournament

Philadelphia Parks and Recreation is having an Independent Boys and Girls Christmas Break Basketball Tournament for ages 6-17.

If you have a team and would like to enter this tournament please contact April Carter at 601-656-4101. The fee is $45 a team. This tournament will be held at the Booker T. Washington Gym.



Shield of Faith Anniversary

Pastor Geneva Blunt and the Shield of Faith Ministries will be celebrating their fourth year church anniversary to be held on Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. Mayor James Young of Philadelphia will be the guest speaker.



MLK Parade Entrees

The Neshoba County Community In Action Parade Committee cordially invites you to participate in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade on Monday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. Applications to participate are available at the following places: the Neshoba County Library, Philadelphia-Neshoba County Economic Development Office (The Depot), and Education & Training Institute (250 West Beacon Street). The application fee is $25. Little Christmas Town

The youth at Salem Baptist Church at Burnside will present a Christmas musical entitled "O Little Christmas Town" on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. Food and fellowship after the musical. Pastor is Duiane O. Morgan.



Silent Night

"Silent Night," an inspiring Christmas cantata by Russell Mauldin and Sue C. Smith, will be presented at Salem Baptist Church on Sunday morning, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. Choir director is Tammy Shumaker.



The Band Wildfire

The band Wildfire plays every Friday night at Old Longino School across from Northside Park in Philadelphia beginning at 7:30.

Classic country, blues, Southern rock, something for everyone, slow dance, line dance, waltz, twist, bop...seven singers, great harmonies, keyboard, our guitar player plays saxophone, fiddles, smoke free environment, friendly folks, $8 covers admission, soft drinks, coffee, cups and ice.

Christmas Cantata

Grace Baptist Adult Choir and Children Choir will present the Christmas Cantata, The Splendors of Christmas, celebrate the Wonder, on Sunday morning, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m.

We will have Christmas potluck lunch immediately after the cantata. Everyone is invited to attend. We will not have services Sunday night.



Mt. Carmel Christmas Cantata

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Edinburg will present their Christmas cantata, "Worthy of Worship," on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. That evening at 6 p.m. the children will present their play, "The Light Has Come." The public is invited.
