The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors hammered two opponents in slow-pitch softball action last week.

The Lady Warriors beat Northeast Lauderdale 11-1 on Tuesday and then beat Meridian 12-1 on Thursday.

Choctaw Central, now 6-3 on the year, will travel to Newton County on Tuesday and will then travel to Neshoba Central on Thursday. On Saturday, Choctaw will travel to Lake to take on the unbeaten Lady Hornets.

The lady Warriors jumped out to an 8-1 lead and held on to take a five-inning, run-rule win on Tuesday.

Choctaw scored two in the first, six in the second and three in the fourth.

Choctaw had 13 hits in the contest as Tia’Rain Saunders was 3-for-3 while Leia Phillips was 2-for-3 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs. Tyra Billy was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Tayla Willis homered and drove in a game-high six run. Mattison Bell and Maiya Joe also had a doubles.

Ciji Vaugn pitched all five innings and gave up five hits and one run.

The Lady Warriors scored early and often and took a five-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Wildcats on Thursday.

Choctaw scored three in the first and eight in the second and finished out with one in the fourth.

Choctaw had 10 hits and took advantage of five errors and six walks. Tayla Willis was 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs while Tia’Rain Saunders was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Maiya Joe was 2-for-2 with two RBIs while Nerra Bell had two RBIs. Ahnaya Williams tripled and scored three runs while Miley Billie doubled and scored a run.
