The Union Yellowjackets jumped back in the Region 6-2A baseball race as they swept a pair of games past Enterprise.

The Yellowjackets defeated the Bulldogs 3-1 in game one and came back in the second contest to win 11-7.

Union entered the week with an 8-7 overall record and 4-2 in the region standings.

"We lost our two seniors to injuries," Coach Dustin Hamrick said. "But we have a good group of juniors and they banded together to pick up the two wins."

The Yellowjackets visit Puckett on Tuesday and host the Wolves on Friday for a pair of region games. They visit Leake Central on Saturday.

Dustin Bates struck out 14 batters and pitched a one-hitter against Enterprise in the first game. Union scored two in the fourth and one in the sixth. Enterprise scored its run in the seventh.

Ryan Baysinger led Union with two singles while Bates added a single.

Will Kennedy and Paul White split time on the mound in the second game with Kennedy getting the win. Union scored five in the first, two in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Enterprise answered with two in the first, two in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Union banged out nine hits. White and Kennedy led with two hits while Dustin Bates added a double. Jake Rawson, Grant Gibbs, Baysinger and Adam Richardson all hit singles.
