Xplosion places 3rd in exposure tournament

Xplosion finished in a tie for second in the ASA West Alabama College Exposure tournament which was played in Tuscaloosa over the weekend.
Teams were guaranteed three games. They would play two pool games and then compete in a single-elimination tournament. Xplosion, a traveling fast-pitch girls softball team that is based in Philadelphia, went 1-1 in pool play and 2-1 in tournament play. Xplosion competed in the 18-and-under division.
It was reported that 22 representatives from different college and junior college softball programs were scouting the games for talent.
Xplosion will be off this weekend and will return to action the weekend of July 12. What tournament they will be playing had not been decided.
Xplosion banged out 10 hits as it took a pool game victory over Rhythm of Muscle Shoals, Ala.
Xplosion scored two in the first and one in the fourth. Rhythm scored one in the fourth.
Peyton Lippert was the winning pitcher with Meg Martin picking up a save.
Martin went 3-for-3 with two RBIs while Clair Winstead went 2-for-2. Anna Katherine Nowell, Hannah Williams and Madalyn McMahon all had one hit.
Team Elite 5
First inning errors were hard to overcome as Team Elite of Tennessee defeated Xplosion in the second pool game Saturday.
Team Elite scored four in the first and one in the fifth. Xplosion scored all of its runs in the first inning.
Nowell had two hits while Allie Pike, Peyton Lippert, Sarah Brock and Katlyn Duke all had one hit.
The Xplosion kept up a steady attack to knock off the Steel City Renegades from Birmingham.
The Xplosion scored two in the first, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Renegades scored two in first.
Meg Martin was the winning pitcher.
Malory Vance led the Xplosion with two hits while Brock, Nowell, Williams and McMahon all had one hit.
Xplosion came on in the middle innings to defeat the Birmingham Mustangs.
Xplosion scored one in the first, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Mustangs scored all of their runs in the first.
Hannah Hall had two hits with two RBIs. Vance, while Vance and Nowell both had two hits. Katlyn Duke had a hit. McMahon picked up a RBI when she walked with the bases loaded.
The tournament came to an end with Xplosion losing a 10-1 decision to the Shockers.
Hannah Williams, Martin, Duke and McMahon all had a hit.
