Xplosion claims another tournament trophy

Xplosion collected another first place trophy as they won the World Series Warmup tournament in Hoover, Ala.
Xplosion is a traveling fast-pitch team based in Philadelphia. After losing their pool game, Xplosion battled back to win the next four games. They were playing in the 18-and-under age division.
"I was really proud of these girls," Coach Craig Martin said. "They were playing against girls who had finished their first year of junior college and they held their own."
The Xplosion will wrap up their summer schedule this weekend when they play in the Big Orange College Exposure Tournament at the University of Tennessee.
Killin' Time 2
Xplosion couldn't get going in the first pool game of the tournament Saturday as they dropped a decision to Killin' Time of Alabama.
Katlyn Duke hit a solo home run and a single. Kayla Robertson and Sarah Brock both added singles.

Xplosion bounced back to take a win in their second pool game.
Xplosion scored three in the first, three in the second and four in the third. Meg Martin was the winning pitcher.
Xplosion had a 14-3 hitting edge. Allie Pike and Mallory Vance both had two hits Madalyn McMahon hit a single and knocked in three runs while Duke added one hit and knocked in two runs. Martin added two RBIs while Hannah Hall, Robertson and Peyton Lippert both hit a single.
Killin' Time 2
Xplosion avenged an earlier loss by eliminating Killin' Time.
Xplosion scored one in the first, one in the third and one in the fourth. Killin' Time scored both of its runs in the third inning.
Peyton Lippert was the winning pitcher. Xplosion had a 6-4 hitting edge.
Duke had two hits and knocked in two runs. Vance, Brock, Hannah Hall and Lippert all hit a single.
Wild Thang 7
The victory put Xplosion into the championship game where they faced Wild Thang which had to win two games in the losers bracket.
The wait did not help the Xplosion which soon found itself down 7-4 after two innings. But Xplosion came on to score three runs in the fifth inning which tied the game at 7-7. When the time expired, the two teams went to the International tiebreaker and Xplosion scored the only run to win the game and the tournament.
Xplosion has a 12-4 hitting edge. Lippert was the winning pitcher.
McMahon had two hits and 4 RBIs while Duke had two hits and two RBIs. Vance, Lippert and Robertson had two hits and Hall had two hits.
