The Choctaw Central Warriors will try to get back on the winning track Friday night when they travel to play the Newton Tigers in prep football action.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Choctaw Central comes on at 1-3 after losing a 41-7 decision to West Lauderdale last week. The 0-4 Tigers lost 30-22 to Kemper County.

"I think we will match up well with them," Choctaw Central Coach Troy Savell said.

The Warriors got on the scoreboard last week in the first quarter when Brandon Kennedy returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. Demarcus Wilson kicked the extra point and the Warriors trailed 21-7 at the times.

Choctaw Central finished with 189 total yards. The Warriors had 101 yards rushing on 44 carries and 88 passing yards. Wilson led with 44 rushing yards and all of the passing.

Damien Cheetum led in tackles with seven.
