The Choctaw Central boys basketball team picked up a pair of victories last week as they defeated Forest 57-40 and Philadelphia 59-51.

The Warriors improved to 17-5 overall and 4-0 in the region. They have three Region 5-3A games slated for this week as they were to host Morton on Tuesday (weather permitting), and then visit Kemper County on Friday and Morton on Saturday.

Treundes Willis scored 19 points to lead the Warriors past region rival Forest.

Leading 14-9 after the first quarter, the Warriors outscored Forest 9-8 in the second quarter to post a 23-17 halftime lead. The Warriors kept pulling away from the Bearcats through the second half. They outscored Forest 17-10 in the third quarter and led 40-27 heading into the final quarter where they put the game away.

Octavious Jones scored 13 points and Dillon Farmer put in 10.

Philadelphia went up 17-11 after the first quarter. Both teams scored 14 points in the second quarter and the Tornadoes led 31-25 at the half.

The Warriors closed the gap as they outscored the Tornadoes 17-11 in the third quarter to tie it a 42-42. The Warriors outscored Philadelphia 17-9 in the final quarter.

Jones led the Warriors with 18 points while Willis put in 15 points. Gerald Isom scored 13 points and Dillan Farmer scored seven.
