Choctaw Central got in two baseball games during the spring break, falling in both contests at the Forest Tournament.

Choctaw dropped an 8-7 decision to Lake and an 8-2 game to Sebastopol.

Choctaw, now 0-3, was scheduled to begin division play this week with Northeast Lauderdale but those games have been postponed.

The Hornets held off a late charge by the Warriors to take a one-run win on last Wednesday at Forest.

Choctaw Central scored three runs in the first and seventh innings with one run in the sixth. Lake scored five in the third and three in the fifth. Lake outhit Choctaw 12-9 in the contest. 

Andre’as Jim led Choctaw at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Azalius Lewis was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. Zander Sockey was 2-for-2 while Keyon Roach scored two runs and had two RBIs. Ashton Grisham also scored two runs for the Warriors. 

Lewis pitched all six innings for the Warriors and gave up eight runs on 12 hits and three walks while striking out four.

 

Sebastopol 8

The Warriors only had three hits as the Bobcats took a six-run win on Wednesday.

Choctaw led 2-1 after three innings before Sebastopol scored five in the fourth and single runs in the fifth and seventh. 

Azalius Lewis tripled for Choctaw while Dewayne Cotton singled, walked three times and scored a run. Zander Sockey had Choctaw’s other hit. 

Keyon Roach pitched 4 1/3 innings for Choctaw as he gave up seven runs on seven hits while allowing two home runs. Sockey pitched two-thirds of an inning while Cotton pitched the final two innings and gave up one unearned run on two hits while striking out two.
