The Union Yellowjackets advanced to the next round of the State Class 2A baseball playoffs last week with a two-game sweep of Enterprise-Lincoln.

The Yellowjackets defeated Enterprise 9-1 in game one and came back to win game two 8-2. Union, now 15-11 on the season, faces Enterprise-Clarke in the next round. They will play at Enterprise on Friday night and at Union on Saturday. Both games will start at 7 p.m. If a third game is needed, it will be held at Enterprise Monday night.

"We are really proud that we have advanced to the third stage of the state playoffs," Union Coach Dustin Hamrick said. "Now we have to concentrate on winning the next series.

"We played a tough schedule early in the season and now it has paid off. We are winning when it really counts."

Union and Enterprise-Clarke both compete in Region 5-2A. They split their two-game regular season series. The winner of this series advances to the South State.
