The Union Yellowjackets took two Region 4-2A victories over Philadelphia and then dropped a decision to Neshoba Central in prep baseball action.

The Yellowjackets defeated the Tornadoes 8-2 and 5-1. They then dropped a 12-5 decision to Neshoba Central.

This week, Union visits Lake on Tuesday and hosts the Hornets on Friday. They host Clarkdale on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets limited the Tornadoes to one hit as they took the win.

Union scored three in the second and five in the third. Philadelphia scored one in the first and one in the seventh.

Jaylon Buckley was the winning pitcher. He had 15 strikeouts. Jackson Ward took the pitching loss for the Tornadoes. He had five strike outs.

Peyton Posey hit a home run and knocked in two runs. J.T. Vance hit a triple while Kolton Cockerham had two hits, scored a run and knocked in two more. Gavin Heath hit a single, scored two runs and knocked in another run. Trevor Patchin and Buckley both hit a single.

Patchin struck out 12 Philadelphia batters to pace Union over the Tornadoes.

The Yellowjackets scored one in the first, one in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth. Philadelphia scored its run in the first inning.

Patchin was the winning pitcher. Deiondre Fox took the pitching loss. He had four strikeouts.

Vance hit a double and a single while Henry Thornton had two hits. Buckley, Patchin and Heath all had one hit.

Ward, Carter and Boogie Bingham all hit a single.

Neshoba Central pulled away from the Yellowjackets in the third inning.

Union scored two in the first and three in the third. Neshoba Central scored one in the first, one in the second, five in the third, three in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Preston Germany took the pitching loss.

Buckley led with a double and two singles. He scored two runs and knocked in two runs. Cockerham had three hits and scored two runs. Patchin hit a single.
