The Union Yellowjackets got back on the winning track Friday as they opened Region 5-2A play with a 22-20 victory over Enterprise in prep football action.

"It was a big win for us," Union Coach Brad Breland said after his team ended a three-game skid. "We are getting healthy again and we played well. I was proud of this win."

Enterprise struck first but the Yellowjackets bounced back to tie the game when Tradarius Harris scored on a seven-yard run. Neither extra point try was good and the score was tied at 6-6 with 3:44 left in the first quarter. The Bulldogs came back with another touchdown and Enterprise led 12-6 at the break.

Union took the lead in the second quarter. Again,the touchdown came on a short run by Harris to tie the score. Harris ran in the two-point conversion and the Yellowjackets led 14-12 at the half.

Harris scored again on a two-yard run in the third quarter. Leviel Wells ran in the two-point conversion to give the Yellowjackets a 22-12 lead with 7:13 left in the third quarter.

Enterprise would score in the fourth quarter but could come no closer as the Yellowjackets held on for the win.

Enterprise had a 19-13 edge in first downs. Union had 266 rushing yards on 36 carries, and 51 passing yard on four completions, giving them 311 total yards. Enterprise finished with 287 rushing yards on 54 carries, and 59 passing yards on five completions for 346 total yards.

Union lost 120 yards to 14 penalties while Enterprise was called eight times for a loss of 65 yards.

Harris led Union rushers with121 yards on 25 carries while James Huddleston had 100 rushing yards on four carries.

The Yellowjackets will be back in action Thursday night when they play host to Clarkdale in the second region game of the season for both teams. Clarkdale comes in at 0-6 and 0-1 after losing 46-0 to Lake last week.
