The Union Lady Yellowjackets went 1-2 to open the slow-pitch season last week.

Union opened up the season with a 5-4 loss to West Lauderdale on Monday. West led 3-1 after the first and held on for the win. Union had just four hits as McKenlee McDaniel had a triple. Dallas Brown, Abbie Jenkins and Anna Grace Blount each singled in the loss.

On Friday, Union played two games at Newton County. The first was an 11-1 win over Meridian. In that game, Union scored five in the first and four in the fourth. Union had 12 hits as Dallas Brown was 3-for-3 with two runs scored while Kenley Pullin was 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. DaShayla Jackson tripled, scored twice and had two RBIs while Kayleigh Vance was 2-for-4 and scored twice.

In their second game of the day on Friday, Union lost 6-1 to Newton County. Union had five hits as Kayleigh Vance had the lone RBI and Anna Grace Blount scored the only run. Dallas Brown, McKinley McDaniel and Kaydon Lee had Union’s other hits.
