The Union pitching staff put together a pair of outstanding games to give the Yellowjackets a pair of Region 5-2A wins last week in prep baseball action.

Union swept two games from Scott Central, winning the first game 10-4 and game two 8-4. In a non-region game, the Yellowjackets dropped a 12-0 decision to West Lauderdale.

"We played well in both Scott Central games," Coach Dustin Hamrick said. "West Lauderdale's pitching was tough for us but they are tough on everyone they play. I wanted us to get a chance to see really good pitching and we saw it."

The Yellowjackets entered the week with a 9-5 overall record and 4-0 in the region standings. They were to visit Enterprise on Tuesday and host the Bulldogs on Thursday. They host Leake Central on Saturday.
