Philadelphia High School is well represented on the Region All-Region 5-3A football team.

The team was selected by the coaches in Region 5-3A and was recently announced.

Tornado quarterback Romon Gray has been named the Most Valuable Player of the region. In 12 games, Gray accounted for 1,973 total yards. Gray completed 69-of-139 passing attempts for 1,228 yards and eight touchdowns. He rushed 114 times for 745 yards and eight touchdowns.

Philadelphia's senior running back, Jacardius Griffin, shared the Most Valuable Offensive Player honors with Jamarcus Bradley of Choctaw County. Griffin had 203 rushes for 1,501 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Taboris Lee of Choctaw County was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player.

Five Tornadoes were named "best" in their positions. Chris Gill was tabbed best offensive lineman while Darrell Rosell was named best defensive lineman. Fent Mars shared best linebacker honors with Ladarius Townsend of Forest. Abe Mars was voted best special teams player, and the Philadelphia coaches were named coaching staff of the year.

Demarquis Wilson of Choctaw Central High School shared best punter honors with Chandler Powell of Forest High School.

Chris Mazique of Forest was named the best offensive back while Damian Willis was named best receiver. Jaylon Lofton of Forest was named best defensive back. Andrew Bernards was named the best punter.

Players named most valuable and best in their positions are automatically members of the all-region team.

First team honors

Members of the Philadelphia team who made first team all-region were Zack Ingrum, T.J. Hudson, Josh Rush, Pat Seales, Johntrell Pickens, Will Cole, Kenshon Henderson, Josh Fulton and Malek Moore.

Three members of the Choctaw Central football team made first team all-region. They were Dalen Wheeler, Fabion Anderson and Jayce Henry.

Members of the Raleigh football team who made first team all-region were D.J. Sanders, Cameron McCarty, John Christian Rush and Buddy Boggan.

Members of the Southeast Lauderdale team who were named first team all-region were Jarrett Jenkins, Dylan Willis, Tommy Curtis, Gage Leifried and Habib Ruffin.

Members of the Choctaw County team who earned first team region honors were Paxton Sims, T.C. Hatchett, Tre Brown,

Willie Miller, Jay Davis and Clay Grissom.

Chad Kincaid, Forest High School

Members of the Forest High School team earning first team honors were Telandus Craft, Kendrick Lofton, Mikell Daniels, Jarrod Braggs and Josh Bradford.



Second team

Those members of Philadelphia who earned second team honors were Ty Gilmer, Kaylon Gray, Brad Horne, K.J. Peebles, Edrick McClendon and John Harold Smith.

Three players from Choctaw Central were named second team all-region. They were Brandon Kennedy, Dakota Kennedy and Travis Dumont.

Lee Wes Ely, Jekerie Ellis and Marquize Nixon all represented Raleigh High School on the second all-region team while Takari Brooks,

Jerry Ivy Ross McDonald and Jakobe Wilson made it for Southeast Lauderdale High School.

Members of Choctaw County who made second team all-region were Travor Pratt, Marcquel Kennedy and Savion Winters.

Members of the Forest team were Bryce Power, Jaquan Bridges, Eduardo Santillian and Isadore Odom.
