Both Philadelphia basketball teams look to bounce back from two losses last week.

The Tornadoes opened the week with a 53-42 loss to Region 4-2A rival Newton High School. Philadelphia then dropped a 59-51 decision to Choctaw Central. The Tornadoes entered the week with a 16-7 record. They are 3-1 in the region standings.

The Lady Tornadoes lost a tough 43-33 decision to Newton High School. They then lost a 62-47 decision to Choctaw Central. The Lady Tornadoes now stand at 14-9 overall and 2-2 in the region standings.

Philadelphia was to host Union Tuesday, weather permitting, and host Scott Central on Friday.

Asher Morgan had 11 points against Newton High School while Jacobi York added nine points.

Zabin Hunter led the Tornadoes with 16 points against Choctaw Central while Morgan scored 12.

Andrika Carter scored 12 points to pace the Lady Tornadoes in their game with Newton.

Tyesha Cole scored 14 points while Carter put in 12 and Nia Luckett scored 10 in Philadelphia’s game against Choctaw Central.
