The Philadelphia High School soccer teams hit the field this week with a pair of games.
The Tornadoes play at St. Aloysius High School in Vicksburg on Friday and host Forest on Saturday. The girls game starts at 10:30 a.m. and the boys follow at noon.
"We have 20 players on both teams," coach Adam Huddleston said. "We have had some good practices and we are looking forward to the season."
The Philadelphia boys made it all the way to the championship game in the playoffs last season and Huddleston said they have some unfinished business.
Among the starters from last year who are on the field again are forward Gray Moorhead, center back John Harold Smith and defenders Fent Mars and Abe Mars.
The Lady Tornadoes have a good returning crew as well. K.K. Bounds will be the goalie while Aliane Puckett is the center defender, Makalya Walker and Macy Martin are the midfielders.
"With both teams, our first goal is to win our district, and then to go as far into the playoffs as possible," Huddleston said. "I look for both teams to have a good year."
