Both Neshoba Central soccer teams opened their seasons Saturday afternoon with victories over Choctaw Central at Rocket field.

The Lady Rockets won their game in a shootout 2-1, while the Neshoba Central boys took a 7-0 victory.

Cecily Kate Price scored the Lady Rockets' only goal in regulation. Jesse Hennington, Neylie Breazeale and Madalyn McMahon all scored for the Lady Rockets during the shootout. Kayla Roberson was the winning goalie.

Jashaunique Steve scored Choctaw Central's goal.

P.T. Anderson scored two goals to lead the Rockets in their win over Choctaw Central while Dalton Marshall had two assists. Also scoring were Jared Brister, Chase McNair, Owen Horn and Kameron Ferguson. ]Tyler Richardson, Anderson and McNair were all credited with assists. Peyton Clark was the winning goalie.

Both teams will be back in action this week. The Rockets host Newton County on Friday.

Choctaw Central visits Northeast Lauderdale on Tuesday and hosts Quitman on Thursday.
