The Pearl Pirates took control of the game in the first half and held on to defeat Neshoba Central 48-13 Friday night in prep football action.
The 0-5 Rockets will be back home Friday night when they host Callaway for homecoming. The Chargers come in with a 6-0 record following last week's 12-7 win over Germantown.
"Pearl came up with too many big plays for us to overcome," Neshoba Central Coach Chuck Friend said. "We made too many mistakes and it was hard to overcome."
Pearl scored 14 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second to go up 34-6 at the half. The Rockets' only point of the half came when D.J. Hoskins returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown.
Pearl would score seven in the third quarter and seven in the fourth. Patrick Burrage scored for the Rockets in the fourth quarter on a long run.
