The Neshoba Central baseball team got its season back on track last week as the Rockets picked up a 13-2 Region 3-5A victory over Ridgeland.

It would be the only game the Rockets played last week. Games with Ridgeland and Louisville were postponed due to wet grounds.

"We lost three games the week before," Coach Justin Stovall said. "It seemed like we were more focused this week. We came back and had a good day of practice. I just wish we could have gotten the other games in and gotten our routine going."

The Rockets are scheduled to play at Canton on Tuesday and then host the Tigers on Friday. On Saturday, they are to host Kosciusko.

Neshoba Central enters the week with a 7-6 overall record and 1-2 region record.

Against Ridgeland, the Rockets scored three in the first, one in the second, four in the sixth and five in the seventh. Ridgeland scored its runs in the fourth inning.

Ryan Montgomery was the winning pitcher. He recorded four strike outs.

Montgomery helped his cause at the plate by hitting a double, two singles and bringing in six runs.

Austin Harrison, Brandon Clark and Taylor Irby each hit a single.
