The Leake Academy Rebels split a pair of district baseball games with Manchester last week.

The Rebels lost the first game 8-6 and then won the second game 7-3. The Rebels now stand at 7-10-1 overall and 2-4 in the district.

They were to play a makeup game at Simpson on Monday before playing a pair of games with Canton on Tuesday and Thursday. On Saturday, the Rebels travel to Meridian to play the Lamar Raiders.

Manchester scored two runs in the seventh inning to slip past the Rebels. Chipper Jones belted a home run and three singles while Reed Mayfield added two hits and Hunter Brown hit a double.

Brown hit a home run in the Rebels' win over Manchester. Leake Academy scored three in the third, four in the sixth and one in the seventh. Manchester came back with two in the third and one in the sixth.

Chipper Jones added a double.

Will Myers was the winning pitcher with six strike outs.
