The Leake Academy Rebels will be on the road for a key District 2AA game Friday night when they visit Manchester in Yazoo City.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Rebels come into the game with a 4-2 record following a 42-0 win over Oak Hill Academy Friday night. That made the Rebels 2-0 in the district standings.
Manchester, meanwhile, stands at 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the district standings. The Mavericks defeated Carroll Academy 28-21 last week.
"It's a big district game," Leake Academy coach Brian Pickens said. "But they are all big and this is the one we play this week. We have played Manchester over the years and know them. They know us. We've just got to go over there and get take the win."
The Rebels finished the Oak Hill game with 417 yards in total offense. Leake Academy had 268 yards rushing and 149 passing.
John Forrest Sisson put the Rebels on the scoreboard when he returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown. The extra point try was no good and the Rebels led 6-0.
Reed Mayfield added to that score later in the first quarter when he connected with Will Myers on a 60-yard touchdown pass. Mayfield passed to Alex Shepard for the two-point conversion and the Rebels went up 14-0.
Ron Fitzhugh scored on an 11-yard run in the second quarter. The extra point was not good and the Rebels led 20-0 at the half.
Thomas Nazary hit paydirt for the Rebels in the third quarter as he rushed one yard for a touchdown. Mayfield connected with Shepard for the two-point conversion and the Rebels led 28-0.
The Rebels scored twice in the fourth quarter. Fitzhugh scored on a 27-yard run and Morgan Cain scored on a four-yard run. Sisson kicked both extra points.
Nazary led the Rebels in rushing with 112 yards on 13 carries, while Myers led the receivers with 92 yards on two catches.
Brandon Johnson was the leading tackler with eight while Sisson and Zach Harville both recovered a fumble.
