The Leake Academy Rebelettes have a pair of District 2-AA games this week.

The Rebelettes were to visit Manchester on Tuesday and host Winston Academy on Thursday. Leake Academy picked up two wins last week as they bested Tri-County 5-0 and Winston Academy 7-3.

"We are a lot younger team then we have been in the past few years," Coach Doug Jones said. "We had a good week but we have to keep getting better."

Chloe Thaggard had 11 strike outs in Leake Academy's win over Tri-County. The Rebelettes scored two in the first, one in the third and two in the fourth. Thaggard helped her cause with a double and two singles.

The Rebelettes outhit Winston Academy 9-2. Leake Academy scored one in the first, one in the third, one in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth. Winston answered with one in the first, one in the fourth and one in the sixth. Katie Webb led the Rebelettes with a home run while Brandy Quick added a double and two singles.

Leake Academy enters the week with a 5-0 record. Leake Academy was to visit Manchester on Tuesday and play Winston for the fourth time this season at home on Thursday.

Player of the week: Katie Webb, who played catcher vs. Tri-County and first base against Winston. Webb hit a home run and a single against Winston.
