Philadelphia opens playoffs with McLaurin

The Philadelphia Tornadoes open their playoff quest this week against McLaurin in prep baseball action.
The Tornadoes enter the playoffs with a 13-11 record. They host McLaurin on Friday for one game. Games two and three, if necessary, will be held at McLaurin.
The Tornadoes went 1-2 last week as they closed out their regular season. Philadelphia took a 6-4 win over Louisville, but then lost a 10-2 decision to Southeast Lauderdale and a 5-1 loss to Clarkdale.
The Tornadoes struck early as they took the win over Louiville, scoring three in the first, one in the third and two in the seventh. Johntreal Pickens was the winning pitcher with 11 strike outs.
Pickens helped his own cause with a double and two singles. Fent Mars hit two singles while Kaylon Gray and Romon Gray both hit a single.
Pickens hit a single to lead the Tornadoes in both their games with Southeast Lauderdale and Clarkdale.
