The Philadelphia 12-year-old all-stars went 0-2 in the state Dixie Youth baseball tournament which was held in Kosciusko over the weekend.
But Philadelphia didn't go down without a battle.
Philadelphia lost their first game to Pascagoula, 13-3. Boogie Bingham had two hits while Hunter Barron and Eli Anderson both had a single and a RBI. Anderson took the loss.
In game two, Philadelphia trailed Corinth 11-2 but battled back to score six runs in the sixth inning before running out of outs. Bingham had two doubles while Aaron Phillips hit a single and RBIs. Jordan Hill had two hits and a RBI. Bryce Parkerson hit a single and added two RBIs. Griffin Gentry pitched the entire game.
"The kids did a good job," Coach Ken Barron said. "We played good defense. We had two errors in the first game and none in the second game. We battled back in the second game and didn't quit when we got behind."
