No. 1 Rebelettes improve to 15-0

The Leake Academy Rebelettes improved to 15-0 with two victories last week.
The Rebelettes defeated Oak Hill 60-39 last Friday night and then dropped Winston Academy 72-44 on Saturday night.
The Leake Academy boys went 2-0 as well and improved to 7-5 overall. The Rebels beat Oak Hill 58-48 and stopped Winston 72-44
Both Leake Academy teams are 3-0 in the district.
The Rebelettes' game with Oak Hill was close until the final quarter. Leake Academy led 40-30 going into the final stanza. The Rebelettes put in 20 points while holding Oak Hill to nine. Mary Grace Key led Leake Academy with 22 points while Hannah Peoples added 18.
The Rebelettes took care of business against Winston in the first half as they jumped out to a 61-27 halftime lead. Peoples scored 32 points to lead the Rebelettes while Anna Nowell added 19 points and Key scored 11.
Leake Academy is ranked No. 1 in the state among Academy AA teams.
Alex Shepard scored 24 points in the Rebels' win over Oak Hill. Leake Academy led 26-24 at the half.
Leake Academy will be playing in the Simpson Academy tournament starting December 27. The Rebelettes open with Jackson Victor while the Rebels will play Porters Chapel.
