East Central Community College will host "Media Day" activities for the Warrior football team on Saturday. Activities are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

During the annual event, area media has an opportunity to interview coaches and players and take publicity photos in preparation for the 2013 football season.

Parents and other supporters of the Warrior football program are also encouraged to attend Media Day and take photos of their favorite players.

EC's football team is led by first-year head coach Ken Karcher, a former NFL quarterback with more than 22 years of coaching experience. He most recently served as offensive coordinator at Eastern Michigan University and is a former head football coach at Liberty University.

Members of Coach Karcher's staff and their respective areas of responsibility include Mickey Mays, offensive coordinator/offensive line; Scott Brock, defensive coordinator/linebackers; Todd Bates, defensive line/strength coach; Charles Jones, safeties; Eric Gray, corners/assistant strength coach; and Cody Wilson, tight ends/running backs.

A preview of this year's squad will be available Friday when the Warriors and Belhaven University's Blazers scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. on the Belhaven campus in Jackson.

EC begins season action Thursday, August 29 at Itawamba Community College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on the Fulton campus.
