The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets brought home five varsity victories and three junior varsity wins from the Gulf Shores Spring Holiday Classic this past week.

The Neshoba Central varsity entered this week with a 7-1 record.

"We had a successful week on the Coast," Coach Trea Embry said. "We played in the pool games but were not able to play in the tournament because there are so many games we can play in a season. We played good competition and came home with eight victories."

The Neshoba Central varsity played four teams from Tennessee and one from Mississippi. They scored a 10-1 win over Houston, Tenn.; First Assembly Christian, Tenn. 22-0; Lewisburg, Ms., 4-0; Friendship, Tenn. 5-4; and Bartlett, Tenn. 3-2.

The junior varsity scored wins over Mooreville 14-0; Brandon 7-6; and, Bartlett, Tenn., 15-0.

The Lady Rockets have a busy schedule this week. They were to play Clarkdale on Monday and Philadelphia on Tuesday. On Friday, they begin play in the Tupelo tournament when they take on Nettleton. On Saturday, they play Tishomingo County at 10 a.m., and Tupelo at 1 p.m.

The Lady Rockets outhit Houston 12-2 during their first victory of the week.

Neshoba Central scored one in the second and nine in the fourth. Houston scored its run in the first inning.

Haley Lunderman hit a triple and a single and record three RBIs. Kayla Robertson added two doubles and a one RBI; Kaila Willis and Katlyn Duke both had a double; Hannah Williams hit a triple and a double and Ali Pike had two hits.

Kayla McKinion was the winning pitcher.

First Assembly Christian, Tenn. 0

The Lady Rockets got off to a first start in their win over First Assembly.

Neshoba Central scored 17 in the first, one in the second and five in the third.

Madalyn McMahon led with a triple and a home run and record two RBIs. Lunderman had two hits and Robertson hit a home run and a single and had three RBIs.

Meg Martin was the winning pitcher.

Lewisburg, Ms. 1

The Lady Rockets blanked Lewisburg for their third win of the tournament.

Neshoba Central scored one in the first, one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

The Lady Rockets had a 7-1 hitting edge. Lunderman went three-for-three. Williams added a triple and McMahon hit a double. Wesley Ashen was the winning pitcher.

Friendship Christian, Tenn. 4

The Lady Rockets held off a late-inning run to defeat Friendship.

Neshoba Central scored four in the first and one in the fifth. Friendship scored all of its runs in the seventh inning.

Lunderman hit a home run to pace the Lady Rockets. Williams and Duke both hit doubles.

Asphen was the winning pitcher.

Bartlett, Tenn. 2

The Lady Rockets finished up their week with a close win over Bartlett.

The Lady Rockets scored one in the first and two in the fourth. Bartlett answered with one in the first and one in the fourth,

Ali Pike led with two singles.

McKinion was the winning pitcher.
