Neshoba Central's Katlyn Duke capped off her senior slow-pitch softball season by being named the Most Valuable Player for the North 4A-5A-6A team in the annual All-Star game played Nov. 2 at Newton County High School.

Duke was a member of the Lady Rocket slow-pitch team that in October won its second state championship in as many years. During the season, she batted over .600 and finished with 23 home runs,

She started the all-star game in center field and played some right field during the all-star game.

In game 1, Duke hit a two-run homer and had three RBIs. In game 2, she knocked in the tying run in a seven-run sixth inning.

Last summer, Duke played in the fast-pitch all-star game for incoming seniors.

The all-star game is sponsored by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
