NC, Choctaw split pair of matches

Choctaw Central and Neshoba Central split a pair of soccer matches last week.
The Neshoba Central boys rolled past the Warriors 8-0 while the Lady Warriors defeated Neshoba Central 4-3 in a shootout.
Scoring for the Neshoba Central boys were Dalton Marshall with three goals, Preston Anderson, Kameron Ferguson, Tyler Richardson, Tyler Richardson and Taylor Irby, all with one goal.
The Choctaw Central girls ended up in a 3-3 tie with Neshoba Central at the end of regulation. Scoring in regulation for the Lady Warriors were Jashaunique Steve with two goals and Allandra York with one, while Madalyn McMahon, Laken Winstead and Mary Kate Collins scored for the Lady Rockets. In the shootout, Steve, Dana Brisco and Robin Routh all scored for Choctaw Central.
In other action last week, Choctaw Central split a pair of matches with Quitman. The girls won 7-0 while the boys lost 7-0. Steve and Routh both scored three goals while Marrisa Hall added one goal.
Choctaw Central has three matches scheduled this week. They host Louisville on Tuesday and then visit Southeast Lauderdale on Thursday and Kosciusko on Friday.
Neshoba Central lost a pair of matches to Newton County. The Rockets went down 5-3 while the girls lost 3-0. Scoring for the Rockets were Dalton Marshall with two goals and Karim Mueller with one goal.
Neshoba Central hosts Forest on Thursday and visits Philadelphia on Saturday.
The Philadelphia soccer teams split a pair of region games with the Math School last week in what turned out to be their only match of the week. This was the season opener for both teams.
Bailey Smith scored the Tornadoes' lone goal in a 1-0 win the Math School.
The Lady Tornadoes dropped a 1-0 decision to the Owls.
Philadelphia hosts two games this week, taking on Forest on Friday and Neshoba Central on Saturday.
