Local soccer teams score region wins

The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors scored a 2-0 region victory over Southeast Lauderdale last week in prep soccer action.
The Lady Warriors also defeated Louisville 5-0 in a non-region game. The Choctaw Central boys lost 4-0 at Southeast Lauderdale and their game with Louisville was rained out.
Choctaw Central has three home games lined up this week. They host Clarkdale on Tuesday, Philadelphia on Thursday and Forest on Friday.
"The win over Southeast Lauderdale was a big one for us," Lady Warriors coach Aaron Terrell said. "We have two region games this week with Clarkdale and Philadelphia and those are the ones that count."
Robin Routh scored three goals to lead the Lady Warriors in their win over Louisville. Jashannque Steve and Onna Denson both added a goal and Allandra York had an assist. Precious Favre was the winning goalie.
Steve scored one goal and Jayna Ben scored another to lead the Lady Warriors past Southeast Lauderdale.
Gray Moorhead had a busy week as he scored all of Philadelphia's goals in their wins over Clarkdale and Richland.
The Tornadoes beat Clarkdale 3-1 for their first region win of the season, and then stopped Richland 2-0.
The Philadelphia girls lost to Clarkdale 7-0.
Philadelphia has three matches this week. They were to visit Neshoba Central on Tuesday, Choctaw Central on Thursday, and Kosciusko on Saturday.
The Neshoba Central boys soccer team improved to 9-0 with wins over Kosciusko and Newton County last week.
The Rockets defeated the Whippets 5-1 and Newton County 5-2. The Neshoba Central girls lost a 2-1 decision to Kosciusko, but bounced back to beat Newton County 2-1.
Neshoba Central has two matches this week. They host Philadelphia on Tuesday and then visit Starkville on Friday.
Jared Brister, Reed McCool, Dalton Marshall, Chase McNair and Kameron Ferguson all scored goals in the Rockets' win over Kosciusko. Tanner Smith and Caleb Crenshaw were both credited with assists. Peyton Clark was the winning goalie.
Brister scored three goals to lead the Rockets past Newton County. Marshall and McNair both scored a goal and were credited with assists.
Sadi Kate Marshall scored the Lady Rockets' only goal in their loss to Kosciusko.
Anna Spears scored Neshoba Central's only goal during regulation against Newton County. Neylie Breazeale and Price both scored in the shootout. Kayla Roberson was the winning goalie.
