The Union Lady Yellowjackets picked up three victories last week in fast-pitch softball action as they swept two Region 4-2A games from Newton High School and defeated Sebastopol.

Union beat Newton 16-1 in the first game and 20-4 in game two. They then avenged an earlier loss by defeating Sebastopol 4-2. The Lady Yellowjackets entered the week with a 9-7 record.

Union has three games set for this week. They were to visit Lake on Tuesday and host the Lady Hornets on Thursday. On Friday, they visit Neshoba Central.



Newton was no match for the Union girls. In the first game, Dallas Brown was the winning pitcher. Ansley Rigby hit a home run. Kenley Pullin had three hits, scored two runs and knocked in two more. Deshayla Jackson finished with two hits, scored two runs and knocked in another. Debbie Hunt had one hit, scored two runs and knocked in three. Abby Jenkins and Kayden Lee both had one hit. Lee had two RBIs.

In game two, Brown, Rigby and Jordan Turner all finished with a single.

Against Sebastopol, the Lady Yellowjackets scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh. Sebastopol scored one in the first and one in the sixth.

 Brown was the winning pitcher. Turner hit a triple. Jackson, Blount, Brown and Turner all had a single.
