Lady Warriors still undefeated

The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors swept a pair of victories this past week to remain undefeated in Region 5-3A play.
The Lady Warriors defeated Philadelphia 11-5 and Choctaw County 7-0 in games played last week. They have a busy schedule this week as they host region foes Raleigh on Tuesday and Forest Thursday. Choctaw Central then travels to Nanih Waiya on Friday and then competes in the Neshoba Central tournament on Saturday when they play the Lady Rockets and East Webster.
"Last week was a big week for us," Coach Aaron Terrell said. "But we still have seven region games left to play. We have to take each one of them seriously."
Choctaw Central enters the week with an 8-3 overall record and 3-0 in the region standings.

Betty Mingo struck out six batters and picked up the pitching win for the Lady Warriors.
Choctaw Central scored four in the first, one in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth. Philadelphia answered with one in the first, two in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Mingo, Jada Sockey and Lashayla McMillan all hit a double and a single to pace Choctaw Central.

The Lady Warriors had an 11-1 hitting edge as they knocked off Choctaw County.
Choctaw Central scored one in the first, one in the second and five in the third.
Raina King and McMillan both hit a double and a single to lead the Lady Warrior batters. Mingo was the winning pitcher.
