The Philadelphia Lady Tornadoes picked up an important Region 4-2A fast-pitch softball victory last week as they defeated Lake 10-5.

The Lady Tornadoes also dropped a 3-1 decision to Lewisburg Friday in the Kosciusko tournament.

Philadelphia has two games with Scott Central this week. If Tuesday’s game was delayed because of weather, they would play two on Thursday. The Tornadoes also host Magee on Friday and Northeast Lauderdale on Saturday.

Philadelphia stands 4-1 in the region.

Philadelphia took control of the game in the fourth inning.

The Lady Tornadoes scored two in the third, five in the fourth, one the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. Lake scored two in the first, one in the fourth and two in the seventh.

Nia Luckett was the winning pitcher.

Luckett hit a grand slam home run to help her cause. Tyesha Cole also hit a home run. Kam Moore, Allyson Davis and N'Drak Tanksley all hit a single.

Lewisburg went up 3-0 in the sixth inning and held off a Lady Tornadoes rally to take the victory.

Lewisburg scored one in the third and two in the sixth. Philadelphia run came in the seventh.

Luckett, Cole and Makayla Evans all hit a single for the Lady Tornadoes.
