The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets outscored the opposition 54-7 while picking up three victories last week as they got their 2019 slow-pitch softball season off to a winning start.

The Lady Rockets beat Southeast Lauderdale 18-6, Leake Central 16-1, and Enterprise 20-0. Elleigh Willis was the winning pitcher in all three games.

The Lady Rockets outhit Southeast Lauderdale 18-10 in the first game of the season. Neshoba Central scored six in the first, four in the second and eight in the third. Southeast Lauderdale answered with two in the first, three in the second and one in the fourth.

Shante Beaulieu had three hits, scored three runs and knocked in another. Nautica Bacon had a double and a single and knocked in two runs. Willis had two hits. Hamaya Fielder scored two runs, had one hit and knocked in another run. Tenly Grisham and Lanayah Henry both hit a double.

Against Leake Central, Neshoba Central scored nine in the first, two in the second, three in the third and two in the fourth. Leake Central scored one in the fifth inning.

Bacon hit a double and a single. She scored two runs and knocked in another. Grisham and Mya Willis both hit a double. Elleigh Willis had two hits while Annleigh Jones had two hits, scored two runs and knocked in two more.

The Lady Rockets settled the issue with Enterprise early as they scored nine in the first and 11 in the second.

Grisham hit a home run and two singles. She knocked in four runs. Bacon had three hits. She scored two runs and knocked in two more. Fielder hit a double, scored two runs and knocked in three. Mya Willis had two hits, scored one run and knocked in two more.

“We are still working on our lineup some but right now, everything is going good,” Coach Trae Embry said. “Elleigh is doing a good job pitcher. In my opinion, she is probably the best pitcher in the state.”

The Lady Rockets were to visit Enterprise on Tuesday and host the Lady Bulldogs on Thursday.
