The Neshoba Central girls will try to get their season back on track Friday night when they play host to region rival Yazoo City.

The Lady Rockets saw their record fall to 11-6 last week as they went 1-for-3.

They dropped two region games to Yazoo City 45-23 and Canton 34-33.

Then on Saturday, they defeated McClain 49-48 in the Philadelphia Shootout.

It was a long week for the Neshoba Central boys, too.

They dropped a 59-26 decision to Yazoo City and another loss to Canton.

In the Philadelphia Shootout, they lost 80-71 to McClain.

"We just are not playing well right now," Neshoba Central coach Fred Morris said. "This is the same group we had before Christmas; we are not shooting well."

The highlight of the week came in the Lady Rockets' 49-48 win over McClain.

Leading 22-19 at the half, the Lady Rockets outscored McClain 19-12 in the third stanza and carried a 40-36 edge into the final stanza.

They needed every point of that advantage as they held off a late McClain rally.

Kaitlyn Dukes led the Lady Rockets with 15 points while Breona Foster added 13.

The Lady Rockets couldn't get anything going against Yazoo City as the Lady Indians bounced out to a 27-13 halftime lead. Dukes led the Lady Rockets with seven points.

Against Canton, the Lady Rockets led 17-15 at the half.

Canton outscored the Lady Rockets 16-10 in the third quarter and held on for the victory.

Gary Willis led the Neshoba Central boys with 11 points in their loss to Yazoo City.

T.J. Benn scored 27 points in the Rockets' loss to McClain.
