The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets were to face their toughest challenge so far this season Tuesday against power house New Hope.

The Lady Rockets opened the week with an 18-1 record following last week's wins over Starkville 16-1 and Winona 11-1.

"We have played well so far," Coach Tre Embry said. "Winona had a good team and it was a good win for us. But we have some tough games at the end of our schedule and we'll see how we do."

Neshoba Central will host Kosciusko on Friday.

Against Starkville, the Lady Rockets scored two in the first, two in the second, three in the third and nine in the fourth.

Neshoba Central had 13 hits led by Kayla McKinion with three and Madalyn McMahon with two. Jenna Pigg was the winning pitcher.

In their win over Winona, the Lady Rockets scored three in the first, three in the third, one in the fifth and four in the sixth. McKinion was the winning pitcher.

Haley Williams led with three hits while Kayla Robertson and Katlyn Duke both had two hits.
