The Leake Academy Lady Rebels will enter the Mississippi Independent Schools Association’s Class AAA fast-pitch North State tournament this weekend.

The tournament will start Saturday and conclude on Monday. It will be held in Cleveland.

Lake Academy closes out the regular season this week. They host Simpson on Monday and visit Starkville Academy on Tuesday.

The Lay Rebels entered this week with a 22-3-1 record.

The Lady Rockets played three games Saturday in the Jackson Prep tournament. They defeated Hartfield 10-6, Copiah Academy 4-0, and Simpson 9-3.

A six-run outburst in the sixth inning lifted the Lady Rockets past Hartfield.

Caroline Jackson was the winning pitcher.

Leake Academy had nine hits, led by Emeri Warren with a triple and a double. Jenna Chamblee hit a double and knocked in two runs. Savanah Jones hit two singles.

The Lady Rebels scored two in the first and two in the sixth as they defeated Copiah Academy.

Kristen Walker was the winning pitcher. She had three strike outs.

Lillian Pope and Ashley Smith both hit a triple. Warren hit a double and a single while Emmi Harkins had two singles.

The Lady Rebels outhit Simpson 10-3 to take the win.

Chamblee had three hits and four RBIs to lead the way. Warren hit a double and Savannah Greer had two hits.

Walker was the winning pitcher in relief.
