The Leake Academy Lady Rebels were challenging for the Carroll Academy tournament championship when rain put an early end to the fast-pitch softball action.

The Lady Rebels defeated Carroll Academy 9-1 and Central Holmes Academy 3-1 in pool play. They were in the first inning of a game with Bayou Academy when the rain started, and did not end.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Rebels defeated Winston Academy 3-1 in a District 2AAA contest.

“We were pleased with our game against Central Holmes,” Coach Doug Jones said as his team improved to 19-3-1. “They are a good team. We would have liked to have played Bayou but the weather stopped the game.”

The Lady Rebels have a busy week ahead. They were to visit Heritage on Monday and Jackson Prep on Tuesday. On Saturday, they will play three games in the Jackson Prep tournament.
