Time flies.

Neshoba Central girls coach Fred Morris noted that the regular prep basketball season for his Lady Rockets is down to eight at the beginning of this week.

"We have some important region games and we need to win every one of them," Morris said. "This is the time that we need to be playing at our best."

Going into this week, Neshoba Central has not played since the Choctaw Central tournament back in December. They have three games this week, including two Region 2-5A games. They were to play at Yazoo City on Tuesday and host Canton Friday.

Then on Saturday morning, the Rocket teams were to play in the Philadelphia High School Shootout against McClain.

The girls play at 10 a.m. and the boys follow at 11:30 a.m.

The Lady Rockets enter the week with a 10-4 record but stand at 0-1 in the region after losing to Starkville. The Neshoba Central boys stand at 4-7.

"We have had three good practices last week," Morris said. "I'm worried that we may be a little rusty because we haven't played in so long. We have to be ready to play."
