Weather cut the Mississippi High School all-star games in half.

But Neshoba Central's Katlyn Duke said she had a good time and made new friends along the way.

"I met a lot of new people," said Duke. "I was closest with the New Hope players. I made some good friendships."

The all-star games were played at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville. Duke's North team in the 4A/5A/6A game dropped a 2-1 decision to the South in the morning game. The second game was rained out.

Duke started in centerfield and rotated around. She grounded out and hit a squeeze bunt

Kaitlyn Lee of Harrison Central and New Hope's D.J. Sanders were named the most valuable players of the game.

The North won the Class 1A/2A/3A game 9-7. Emmalee Roberts of Enterprise-Clarke was the MVP.
